Commenting on their recent purchase, Stephen Hall, Managing Director of Hall Construction said, ‘we are more than pleased with our purchase of the Finlay J-1175. To be honest we had feared that no machine would be capable of handling the material because of the high percentage of steel in the feed. When we discovered that this machine could crush this material, we knew that it was capable of crushing anything. W e have the J-1175 working along with a Finlay 883 Reclaimer that screens out the fines and oversize in the first pass and crushes the middle product, then crushes the oversize later. The reason for doing it this way is because it contains a high percentage of steel. Another thing that we like about the machine is the layout and ease of operation of the machine which allows the crushers safety mechanism to stop the crusher safely when a piece of steel enters the jaws. We have also fitted a hydraulic tension rod on the toggle that assists the hydraulic adjustment by not having to manually reset the tension on the spring. Overall it is just an excellent piece of engineering.’
Launched in June 2005 at the Hillhead show, the J-1175 Jaw Crusher is the first in the Finlay Crushing range. Fitted with a 1070mm x 760mm (42" x 30") world renowned Jaques crusher chamber and a heavy-duty undercarriage, the J-1175 is highly regarded for its strength, durability and its exceptional on-site mobility. A heavy duty vibrating grizzly feeder with automatic control to regulate the feed into the crusher, Hydrostatic drive and reverse crushing action to assist in clearing blockages, are all major features of this unit. Its compact size, ease of transport, and quick set-up times makes the TEREX Finlay J-1175 unit ideal for contract crushing and demolition/recycling applications.
Four months later Finlay has already bolstered their new crushing range with the addition of the I-1312 Impactor. Due for release in November 2005, the Crusher is proving every bit as trustworthy as the J-1175. Currently in the final prototype stages in Quarrystone's limestone quarry in Golden, Co. Tipperary, the I-1312 is reaching output of 400tph with a 4" setting in the Impactor, with resulting large volumes of namely 804 (-40mm), 65mm, and plus 75mm. Frank O' Dwyer, Managing Director at Quarrystone comments "The new Finlay I-1312 Impactor is a hugely impressive machine, with many user friendly features. The Cedar Rapids Impactor Chamber has worked extremely well on our material, and is producing large quantities of 804 which is one of our best selling products, surpassing anything we have used before. Having already the experience of Finlay equipment with the 883 Reclaimer Screening unit, we know a quality product when we see it. Going forward we anticipate the integration of a new Finlay I-1312 Impactor Unit in our operation. Since purchasing the Finlay Reclaimer almost three years ago, we have no doubt that the new Impact Crusher meets the same exacting standards of build quality, backed up with a reliable after sales service".
Looking ahead TEREX Finlay are expecting an exciting and busy 2006. With a complete crushing, screening, washing and recycling range to offer, TEREX Finlay look forward to building on a 45 year reputation and a leading edge in the marketplace.
